Sport Chek - Footwear Department Manager

About the Role:
  • We are seeking an experienced Footwear Department Manager to join our team at Sport Chek.
  • In this role, you will lead by example, demonstrate a positive attitude, and be responsible for coaching and developing your team.
  • You will develop relationships with customers, provide mentorship and coaching to your team, and build a daily game and sales plan for the department.
Responsibilities:
  1. Coach and develop your department team by setting expectations, keeping open lines of communication, providing constructive feedback, and ongoing support.
  2. Build and manage a daily game and sales plan for the department.
  3. Create development plans for full-time staff – providing support and coaching to improve any performance gaps.
  4. Communicate skills proven through effective huddles/meetings/coaching sessions.
  5. Develop and maintain a positive work environment for staff.
Requirements:
  • Business savvy – you have a customer-focused mindset and can plan, execute, and drive sales.
  • Leaders – you lead by example and have a passion for coaching, developing, and inspiring your team.
  • Culture and brand ambassadors – you love the work and take pride in our brand.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a retail environment, preferably at a supervisory level.
  • A proven track record of business growth and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in or involvement in sports or the sporting goods industry is an asset.
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
