Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Department Manager to join our team at Château de Mercuès. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring that our high standards of service and cleanliness are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Housekeeping Department, ensuring that all team members are trained and equipped to provide exceptional service to our guests.
  • Develop and implement effective systems and processes to drive efficiency, productivity, and quality in the Housekeeping Department.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination, ensuring that our guests receive a seamless and exceptional experience.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that all areas of the hotel meet our high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and reports, including financial statements, budgets, and schedules.
  • Source and purchase housekeeping supplies, equipment, and services, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
  • Develop and implement sustainable cleaning practices and legislated cleaning and safety procedures and standards for the hotel.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of hotel renovations, upgrades, and deep cleaning, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Recruit, train, and develop housekeeping staff, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge to provide exceptional service to our guests.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards, fostering a culture of safety among the team.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of management or leadership experience in the service industry or 4 years of experience in a housekeeping department.
  • Excellent guest service skills, with a proven track record of exceeding guest expectations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of standard operating financial statements, budgeting, and effective cost management.
  • Working knowledge of relevant platforms, including Maestro PMS and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, with flexibility in scheduling.
  • WHMIS knowledge and/or certification.
