Job Overview

In your role as the Director of Housekeeping Operations, you will oversee the daily functions of the Housekeeping Department and be an integral member of the Senior Management Team.

Together with the Director and fellow Housekeeping Leaders, you will ensure that the standards of service are upheld and that all team members consistently surpass our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Uphold the mission statements of the property, ensuring adherence to the service standards of excellence. Cultivate an inclusive environment where all team members feel valued and are provided with opportunities for growth. Lead by example as a proactive member of the Housekeeping Leadership Team. Be accountable for the performance of the housekeeping team, actively engaging in operations to meet or exceed guest expectations. Act as the primary contact for guests needing immediate assistance from Housekeeping Leadership and address guest concerns promptly. Foster a positive atmosphere for learning and development within the housekeeping team. Develop, implement, and continuously enhance systems and processes within the Housekeeping Department to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction. Manage the annual budget for housekeeping and oversee the cleanliness and condition of all areas. Coordinate all Human Resource functions within the Housekeeping Department and fulfill all administrative duties. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among the team. Source, procure, and manage inventory of all housekeeping supplies. Assist in planning renovations, upgrades, and deep cleaning during scheduled closures. Ensure sustainable cleaning practices and compliance with safety procedures. Oversee the operations of the housekeeping department, including planning, coordinating activities, conducting inspections, and ensuring standards are met. Arrange for the maintenance and repair of equipment and manage supply inventories. Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff while managing financial records, budgets, payroll, and employee schedules.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will embody a commitment to hospitality excellence and possess:

Exceptional guest service skills with a passion for exceeding expectations. The ability and desire to lead a world-class Housekeeping team. Strong Human Resources capabilities. A minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience in the service industry or 4 years in a housekeeping department. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and creative problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of financial statements and budgeting processes. Proficiency in relevant software platforms, including Maestro PMS and Microsoft Office. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required. WHMIS knowledge and/or certification.

A mutual understanding of employment duration will be discussed during the interview process.
