Regulatory Affairs Manager

Job Summary:
The Manager, Regulatory Affairs & Compliance will provide leadership and support to the Regulatory Affairs department, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and providing advice on necessary actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the timely and accurate reporting of OEB regulated requirements, including RRRs, utility scorecards, surveys, and annual reports.
- Lead regulatory-related elements of external audits for RRRs and ESQRs.
- Manage regulatory support processes for system connections and expansions.
- Contribute to the development of regulatory strategies.
- Coordinate information and write evidence, reports, and briefings to advance the regulatory agenda.
- Provide analysis, recommendations, and advice on regulatory advocacy issues and strategic projects.
- Review, process, and provide interpretation of staff papers and decisions from the OEB, ensuring timely and accurate regulatory filings.
- Develop methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of regulatory services.
- Manage record-keeping activities for internal and external review.
- Monitor industry issues and regulatory developments, building relationships with government and regulatory authorities.
- Provide support and work cooperatively with internal groups on industry initiatives and regulatory compliance.
- Manage the introduction of new or modified regulatory-related business processes.
- Manage department projects and key initiatives to ensure quality and timely completion.
- Research, recommend, and implement new or enhanced policies, procedures, and processes to improve operational effectiveness.
- Provide overall people leadership and direction through coaching, development, performance management, and resource planning.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements:
Education & Specialized Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Knowledge of regulatory and governmental codes, rules, and regulations is an asset.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office applications.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience, including a leadership role, preferably in finance and/or regulatory.
- Extensive experience building financial models and working with complex spreadsheets.
- Experience in a unionized utility environment is an asset.
- Strong planning skills, with the ability to assess the impact of decisions.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to work effectively on multiple projects within tight deadlines.
- Must hold and maintain a valid class "G" driver's license.
