We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team at Winmar Property Restoration Specialists Halifax. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finishes on our restoration projects.
Key Responsibilities- Surface Preparation: Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted, including repairing cracks and holes.
- Paint Application: Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
- Equipment Operation: Erect scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment, and assemble, erect, and dismantle as required.
- Material Selection: Select and order merchandise, including paint and other materials.
- Surface Protection: Clean and prepare surfaces for painting, including drywall taping and patching.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in painting and decorating.
- Language: Fluency in English.
- Work Environment: Ability to work at heights, in clean environments, and with attention to detail.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Certifications: First Aid Certificate and Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
- Equipment Experience: Experience with brush painting, roller painting, and sandblasters.
- Specialization: Specialization in painting, coating, and application.
