Job Summary

The Deli Clerk is a key member of our Thrifty Foods team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Process customer deli orders, handling and preparing deli products with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all Food Safety Protocols and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Participate in the training of junior staff, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Order and receive stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of products.
  • Process department shrink, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
  • Perform other duties as required, contributing to the overall success of the deli department.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy in handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent bending and reaching.
