Akamai's Cloud Technology Group is looking for a skilled Cloud Technology Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Compute division, you will be responsible for designing and developing tests, contributing to testing frameworks, and managing test execution pipelines.

Our team focuses on test automation and automated workflows, emphasizing integrating testing into CI/CD release pipelines. You will be part of a collaborative, inclusive, and creative environment where you will have the opportunity to work on a portfolio of products designed to build and manage highly scalable Kubernetes infrastructure.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to developing tests, supporting frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines validating an application platform built on Kubernetes.
  • Contributing towards building the roadmap for enterprise features expected from a Kubernetes-based Application Platform.
  • Validating and testing cloud-native technologies and architectures.
  • Developing best practices, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams in an Agile environment.
  • Working in an environment that fosters innovative solutions, rapid development cycles, and open communication.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Experience in developing test automation solutions using widely accepted frameworks.
  • Experience with operating or testing highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable production services using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
  • Experience leveraging CI/CD tools to achieve good software development practices.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Crossplane, Pulumi, Terraform, or Ansible.
  • Experience with Pytest, Selenium, or other test automation frameworks and comfortability leveraging Python or Bash for scripting.
  • Debugging and troubleshooting skills for resolving test-related issues in complex platforms.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP) and knowledge of Linux-based operating systems.
