Job Description
This position involves interpreting manufacturing documents to assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts or modify basic components, sub-assemblies, and structures using hand and power tools. The Mechanical Assembly production specialist will report to the Production Supervisor and lead low to moderate complexity assembly projects, directing MO2 assemblers and ensuring quality.
Key responsibilities include reading engineering drawings (excluding wiring) and Oracle Bill of Materials, using 3D model viewing software and Microsoft Office, verifying parts against requirements, and resolving discrepancies with the supervisor.
The production specialist will also assist other departments as needed, conduct visual inspections, prepare units for testing, ensure quality standards, and make necessary adjustments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience in assembly within a manufacturing environment, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Candidates should also possess proven experience in assembling or repairing products, the ability to read and understand drawings and schematics, active participation in 5S, safety, and site engagement, and familiarity with Lean manufacturing processes and Six Sigma tools.
