Data Science Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor to join our faculty in the area of Data Science for Child Health. The successful candidate will be based in Toronto, Canada and lead innovative data science research in collaboration with researchers at the Leong Centre, a child health equity research centre with a vision of "harnessing interdisciplinary research to promote the flourishing of every child and family."
Key Responsibilities- Lead a successful independent research program focused on evidence generation addressing social and health inequities and child well-being.
- Mentor students/trainees and supervise graduate students.
- Teach and contribute to the development of curriculum in data science and related fields.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers and policymakers to advance the Centre's aims.
- PhD in a relevant quantitative discipline, such as applied mathematics, economics, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, informatics, computer science, or engineering.
- Clearly demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
- Scientific and academic leadership in high-impact research that addresses important problems in population health and health systems, with emphasis on child health and equity.
The Edwin S.H. Leong Chair in Data Science for Child Health includes support from a $5.5 million endowment, including salary (commensurate with experience) and operating funds. The University of Toronto is a world-renowned institution with a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching.
