Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Kinesiology and Exercise Science to join our team at Humber College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses within the Kinesiology Bachelor of Applied Science Degree Program, the Fitness and Health Promotion Diploma Program, and the Exercise Science and Lifestyle Management Graduate Certificate Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses within the Kinesiology and Exercise Science programs
  • Develop and implement course materials and assessments related to learning outcomes
  • Create an effective and innovative learning environment for students
  • Contribute to overall program and curriculum development
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in committees and working groups
  • Build and establish applied research projects within the Fitness and Health programs
  • Support student advising, recruitment, and graduate placement
  • Assist with the promotion and marketing of programs
  • Develop and maintain strong industry ties
Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Kinesiology or a related field
  • Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (an asset)
  • Relevant industry certifications (an asset)
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in the fitness and health industry
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level
  • Industry acumen and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to teach several courses within the program cluster
  • Specialized skills or academic training in areas such as biomechanics, exercise prescription, fitness assessment, and coaching
