Job Summary:

Brightshores is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring services to meet the needs of individuals with significant mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor services to meet the needs of individuals with significant mental health needs.
  • Function independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Work cooperatively with multiple service providers.
  • Provide high-quality assessment and brief counseling using short-term solution-focused and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy therapeutic models.
  • Participate in the education of staff, students, and the larger community.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and community partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments in mental health.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, or a related health or Social Science field.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience working with individuals with significant mental health needs.
  • Excellent assessment and treatment skills utilizing modalities of individual and group therapies.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and familiarity with DSM-V.
  • Training and experience in Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Single Session Therapy, Group therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
  • Access to reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Grey and Bruce Counties.
  • Analytical and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle and respect confidential information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting and work all shifts.
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records.
  • Adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.
