Senior Project Engineer

A Key Role in Our Mechanical Engineering Team

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering team. This challenging role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead complex projects, provide technical guidance, and help drive the growth of our engineering capabilities in Ontario and across Canada.

About the Role:

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical engineering services, including HVAC and plumbing designs, low-carbon solutions, and energy efficiency projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, provide technical expertise, and help mentor and guide more junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and engineering of HVAC, plumbing, and low-carbon electrification projects for commercial, institutional, and residential facilities.
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs for district energy and heat pump-based systems, including system layouts, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Conduct site inspections, system performance monitoring, and provide engineering assessments for existing and new systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical expertise to other groups within Pinchin.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists, supporting their growth and development.

Requirements:

  • A university degree in Mechanical Engineering and a P.Eng. designation in Ontario. Additional certifications such as LEED or CEM are advantageous.
  • 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering, with a strong background in building HVAC and plumbing system design, particularly hydronic systems for heating and cooling.
  • Experience in energy audits, energy modeling, and evaluating energy efficiency measures for building mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, IES, and Trace.
  • Excellent technical writing, research, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and client relationship skills.
