We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Land Development Engineer to join our team at Egis Canada Ltd. as a Project Manager. As a key member of our Land Development group, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex land development projects from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Manage and support staff, including workload planning, mentoring, training, and communication with direct reports.
- Engineering Design: Complete engineering design for a wide variety of projects, with a focus on components such as storm and sanitary services, watermain, lot/site grading and drainage, stormwater management, and utility coordination.
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals, consultants, and other business leaders.
- Organic Growth: Assist in the growth of the Land Development group through the addition of key hires, new clients, and the pursuit of potential new opportunities.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Provide leadership and mentoring for engineering interns and technologists, and provide guidance and mentoring to more junior staff.
- Technical Specifications: Prepare technical specifications and reports.
- Client Liaison: Liaise with clients, government, and/or regulatory bodies, as well as contractors.
- Industry Standards: Monitor industry standards and developments, assess client needs, and make concrete decisions on proposed solutions.
- Completion of a university degree in Civil Engineering.
- 10+ years of design experience on land development projects.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- Design skills with good working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil3D.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French would also be an asset).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, time management, and ability to think creatively.
- Sound understanding of the land development process.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Experienced with project management and has worked in, or understands the consulting engineering environment.
- Working knowledge of modeling software (PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, EPANET, etc.).
- Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
