About the Role

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Provincial focused Lead to provide advice and services on matters of Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness at the Provincial level.

This role will oversee and contribute to the development and implementation of provincial processes and policies related to disability management, attendance management, performance planning, and initiatives supporting occupational health, safety, and wellness.

The successful candidate will ensure compliance with direction set at the level of the province and implement policies and processes to advance a vision of excellence within their areas of responsibility.

This includes monitoring quality programs, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and accreditation requirements within the zone.

The Provincial Lead will work with IWK on shared services related to health, safety, and wellness and collaborate with other education institutions, government, and partners to meet current and future human resource requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement provincial processes and policies related to occupational health and safety
  • Provide advice and services on matters of occupational health and safety
  • Oversee and contribute to the development of quality programs and initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and accreditation requirements
  • Collaborate with IWK and other partners on shared services and projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, health, business, public administration, or a related field or a combination of education and 10 years' progressive leadership experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in progressive leadership positions involved in planning and delivering comprehensive occupational health services
  • Knowledge of policy impact and development, project management principles, and analysis of statistical data
  • Demonstrated ability to build engagement among peers and business leaders
