Elder Help Peel is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to providing older adults and seniors with caring and compassionate social programs, services, and events. As a Strategic Fundraising Director, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission.

Job Description

This is an ongoing volunteer role that requires a time commitment of between 3-5 hours per month, in addition to monthly 1 hour in-person Board meetings (12 Board meetings per fiscal year). You will be responsible for planning and implementing fundraising campaigns and events that meet the strategic objectives of the organization.

  • Develop a quarterly philanthropic revenue cycle, including appeals
  • Cultivate and solicit major donors
  • Share and implement ideas to improve fundraising strategy
  • Write newsletter articles for the 'Giving Back' section of the newsletter
  • Attend all Board meetings and participate independently and knowledgeably in all deliberations of the Board
  • Stay informed about committee matters, prepare well for meetings, review and comment on minutes and reports
  • Operate with integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of lonely and socially isolated seniors
  • Cultivate relationships with our corporate and community partners
  • Participate in Elder Help Peel fundraising and other relevant special events during some weekends
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Expertise in Fundraising/Sponsorship
  • An educational background and/or commensurate experience in fundraising
  • An enthusiasm for generating ideas and solutions
  • Strong organization and communication skills with keen attention to detail
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Experience working with not-for-profit organizations is an asset
  • Fluent in English Language required, plus other languages, an asset
  • Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Estimated Salary Range

$60,000 - $80,000 per year (estimated), based on industry standards and location.
