Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at the University Health Network. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual work-ups, including history, medications, vision, corneal pachymetry, intraocular pressure, autorefraction, OCT, and biometry.
- Input data into EPIC and assist with in-office procedures.
- Provide administrative support, including preparing for clinics and assisting the administrative team.
Requirements:
- Completion of high school and an additional 1-year program in a general sciences program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- At least 1 year of practical and related experience.
- Experience working in a hospital environment is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage patient concerns.
- Organization and attention to detail.
- Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
