Job Summary

The Abilities Case Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and effective management of employee disability claims. This includes case management, benefit adjudication, and coordination of return-to-work plans.

Responsibilities
  1. Management of employee disability claims, including WSIB and HOODIP legislation
  2. Proactive assistance to employees in maintaining their ability to work
  3. Support throughout the return-to-work process
  4. Adjudication of benefits and review of medical documentation
  5. Documentation and maintenance of Employee Chart/Claim file records
Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, or other health-related science discipline
  • Minimum three years of experience in disability claims management
  • Experience in a unionized environment, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Registration with relevant college and membership in relevant professional association (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation

This position requires a high level of professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
