Job Title: Structural Engineer - Bridge Design and Project Management

Job Type: Permanent contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team as a Bridge Design and Project Management professional. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, calculating, planning, and organizing highway, rail, port, and bridge projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Project Management: Assist in producing engineering deliverables for bridge rehabilitation and new design projects from concept through construction, ensuring they meet and exceed customer quality requirements.
  • Team Collaboration: Work independently and as part of a team to define problems, establish work scope, prepare budgets and schedules, plan work, and provide technical direction and oversight.
  • Technical Expertise: Perform complex technical engineering tasks efficiently and accurately, leading and mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and check detailed engineering calculations and models, drawings, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates, detailed technical reports, procurement documents, design packages, proposals, and detailed analyses.
  • Construction Support: Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing contractor proposals.
Requirements
  • Education: Civil or Structural Engineering Degree from an accredited university. Professional Engineer (OIQ) certification.
  • Experience: 2-7 years of experience in bridge design after graduation, with experience in the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and MTQ standards.
  • Skills: Good working knowledge of MS Office, industry-standard bridge design and analysis software (such as ADA, Visual Design, and CSI Bridge), and AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Additional Requirements: Experience in preliminary design and detailed design of new bridges and rehabilitation or evaluation of existing bridges, steel and concrete structures. Familiarity with relevant agency/regulatory approval processes as pertaining to bridge engineering.
