Job Opportunity in Engineering Business and Entrepreneurship

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as a full-time teaching stream appointment in the area of engineering business and entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor Teaching Stream and will be expected to start on July 1, 2025.

About the Position

The Institute of Transdisciplinary Studies in Engineering Education and Practice (ISTEP) in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering (FASE) at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time teaching stream appointment in the area of engineering business and entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will teach courses within FASE's Business Minor and Entrepreneurship Certificate and support the integration of business and entrepreneurship across FASE's undergraduate and graduate curricula.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in engineering business and entrepreneurship
  • Support the integration of business and entrepreneurship across FASE's undergraduate and graduate curricula
  • Pursue scholarship related to the instruction of business and entrepreneurship and the application of business and entrepreneurship in engineering practice
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD in marketing, strategy management, entrepreneurship, engineering, engineering education, or a related field at the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. We will also consider applicants with an equivalent doctoral degree in a related area, or a Master's degree at the time of appointment combined with relevant industry/professional and teaching experience of at least 5 years.

Desirable Qualifications

Teaching experience within an undergraduate engineering program, a record of leading technology-based companies, and eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer in Ontario are desirable qualifications. ISTEP is especially interested in individuals with a demonstrated commitment to innovative teaching and engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
