About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Optician Assistant to join our team at Specsavers Dufferin Mall. As a key member of our retail team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our patients and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with our Licensed/Registered Optician(s) to achieve store objectives and build customer/patient loyalty
  • Contribute knowledge and experience in the dispensing process of eyewear, engaging with patients and customers to discover or reemphasize their eyewear needs
  • Provide guidance with frame selection and ensure customers receive a clear understanding of our frame and lens product options
  • Carry out dispensing measurements accurately and conduct quality assurance checks and final inspections to ensure products meet required specifications
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs within your skillset comfort level and maintain up-to-date knowledge of product portfolio, promotional offers, and incentives
  • Proactively engage in professional development opportunities and continuous learning to improve skills and product knowledge
Requirements
  • Be enrolled in an Opticianry post-secondary program
  • Have at least 2 years of previous customer service experience, preferably in an optical dispensary environment
  • Knowledge of optical theory and technical skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and computer skills
  • Self-starter with problem-solving and analytical skill set
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
