Job Summary:

The Sales Supervisor will be responsible for supervising staff, assigning sales workers to duties, hiring and training staff, and teaching interest or professional development courses. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work under pressure, and have a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of sales staff
  • Assign sales workers to duties and tasks
  • Hire and train new staff members
  • Teach interest or professional development courses to staff
  • Authorize payments by cheque and manage inventory
  • Exhibit designers plan and develop permanent and temporary or moveable exhibits and displays for museum exhibitions, trade shows, conventions, retail spaces and other exhibitions
  • Order merchandise and authorize returns
  • Establish work schedules and manage staff workload
  • Sell merchandise and prepare reports on sales volumes and merchandising
  • Resolve customer complaints and supply shortages
  • Organize and maintain inventory and manage stock levels
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP education
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in sales or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff
Work Environment:

The Sales Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to handle heavy loads and work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking environments.
