Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at SimplySmart Childcare Centre 2 Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess children's development and create personalized learning plans.
  • Assist colleagues with housekeeping and cooking duties.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Maintain daycare equipment and ensure a safe environment.
  • Lead activities, such as storytelling, singing, and outings, to promote learning and development.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents or supervisors.
  • Submit written observations to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
  • Establish guidelines for behavior and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and community service providers.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Experience in childcare an asset.
  • Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification.
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • CPR Certificate.
  • Vulnerable sector check.
  • Dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, interpersonal awareness, reliability, and values and ethics.
