Job Description

**Job Title:** Specialist, Quality Assurance

**Job Summary:** CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Specialist, Quality Assurance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day testing activities for multiple integration projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • **Manage and Coordinate Testing Activities:** Oversee the day-to-day testing activities for multiple integration projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
  • **Evaluate Business Requirements:** Evaluate business software and system requirements to ensure they can be translated into functional and non-functional tests.
  • **Translate Requirements into Test Cases:** Translate business software and system requirements into detailed test cases and record them using our test management tool – Tricentis qTest.
  • **Execute Test Steps:** Execute test steps and record results in the Tricentis qTest test management tool, identifying and recording any defects found.
  • **Peer Review and Quality Assurance:** Conduct peer review of test cases with other testers on the team to ensure quality, suggesting improvements to enhance the quality of work products.
  • **Testing Estimates and Progress Reports:** Provide the test manager with input to testing estimates and progress reports.
  • **Independent Quality Assessments:** Participate in independent quality assessments to ensure products and services meet or exceed quality standards and objectives.
  • **Collaboration and Communication:** Collaborate with delivery, development, test, and business teams to fully understand the future business state and proposed application/system changes.
  • **Requirements Review and Analysis:** Execute requirements review sessions to ensure completeness and full traceability, analyzing requirements for testability and identifying inconsistencies or gaps.
  • **Test Case Development and Execution:** Architect, design, write, and execute test cases and test plans to support quality assurance activities throughout the software lifecycle.
  • **Defect Management:** Lead software defect review meetings to provide prioritization and severity assessments of defects to the business and IS teams, managing the defect management process with the project team.
  • **Testing Financials and Risks:** Deliver testing estimates and progress reports to the test manager and project management team, tracking testing financials and risks at the project team level.
  • **Continuous Improvement:** Participate in the continuous improvement of processes associated with the HP testing suite and other quality processes, along with defect and test management activities.
  • **Quality Tracking:** Track IS quality within the established framework by providing input into key metrics to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of IS processes and delivery capabilities.
Requirements:
  • **Education:** Post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • **Experience:** 8-10 years of experience in manual testing in SAP/Custom-based business applications, with 5 years of experience as a Test Lead on large or multiple SAP/Custom projects.
  • **Certification:** Certification in Software Quality (American Society for Quality - Certified Software Quality Engineer) or equivalent experience.
  • **Technical Skills:** Familiarity with one or more of the following technologies: networking, database, SAP, and/or web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, JSP, ASP, ABAP,.NET, MQ, Oracle, and SQL Queries during test execution.
  • **Test Management Tools:** Minimum 5 years' experience with Tricentis qTest or similar test management tools, with experience with Tricentis Tosca, Tricentis LiveCompare, or LoadRunner being an asset.
