We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our Back Office Development team. This role will involve working on high-quality software development projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the growth and success of our organization.

**Salary:** The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

**Job Description:** As a Senior Software Developer at Empire Life, you will be responsible for:

* Designing, developing, and testing high-quality software applications using various programming languages, including Kotlin, Python, and Java.

* Collaborating with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery of new and existing applications and services to production.

* Contribute to automated testing, load testing, and performance optimization of applications.

* Participate in architecture design, process improvements, and technology research to enhance our business.

* Providing technical expertise, mentoring teammates, and facilitating problem-solving.

* Documenting software with architectural decision records (ADR's) and OpenAPI specifications.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

* 5+ years of work experience in back office web development.

* Strong knowledge and expertise in back office software development, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), and DevOps.

* Experience with automated testing, load testing, and performance optimization.

* Proficiency in programming languages such as Kotlin, Python, React or Javascript, Java, HTML, and CSS.

* Database schema design and SQL query experience.

* REST API development and event-driven architecture programming.

* Cloud platform experience, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

* Agile development methodologies and related platforms (e.g., Scrum, Jira).

* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

* Ability to think logically, analyze, and solve problems.

* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively.

* University degree, college diploma, technical training, or equivalent experience.
