Job Overview

As a Construction Labourer with Qualico Canada, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our construction sites. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for performing general labour activities and basic carpentry tasks. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a clean and organized construction site, ensuring proper disposal of waste and scrap materials.
  • Collecting excess materials or supplies and transporting them to storage facilities, maintaining organization of the storage area.
  • Loading and unloading construction materials, preparing the site for sub-trades, including floor cleaning in preparation for flooring installation.
  • Completing basic carpentry tasks and supporting onsite team members or trades with construction activities.
  • Complying with Qualico's Safety Program and relevant safety legislation.
  • Reporting incidents or near-miss incidents immediately to the Site Superintendent.
  • Completing other tasks as assigned.

Essential Requirements

  • Completion of middle school, able to read and write, and perform basic math.
  • Minimum 6 months of construction-related experience.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for construction work purposes.
  • Attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and situational awareness of the physical work environment.
  • Physically able to kneel and crouch, as well as lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.

Work Conditions

You will primarily work full-time on-site during regular business hours. Work will have exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Travel to the regional office or other site locations is required. Overtime may occasionally be required.
