Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Sault Area Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform dispensing functions independently, adhering to departmental procedures and NAPRA Standards.
  • Conduct final technical checks of products, following departmental processes and OCP standards.
  • Replenish stock and utilize the Pneumatic Tube for distribution.
  • Function as a Pharmacy Courier, ensuring timely delivery of medications.
  • Supply "pass" medications and complete associated documentation.
  • Manage daily cartfill medications and maintain accurate inventory control.
  • Prepare and deliver sterile products, adhering to CSHP and departmental standards.
  • Complete labeling, documentation, and workload statistics.
  • Inventory control and maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Supply nursing units with ward stocks of Narcotic and Controlled drugs.
  • Maintain crash cart supplies and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program approved by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Excellent mathematical computation skills, attention to detail, and writing skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
