Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Join the Sault Area Hospital team as a Pharmacy Technician and play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients.

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the dispensing of medications, including receiving and processing prescriptions, preparing and labeling medications, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform dispensing functions independently as per departmental procedures and NAPRA Standards.
  • Prepare and deliver sterile products according to CSHP and departmental standards.
  • Inventory control by maintaining adequate levels of stock and accurate counts at all times.
  • Supply ward stocks of Narcotic and Controlled drugs according to department procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of Pharmacy Technician Program approved by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Mathematical computation skills required for pharmacy practice.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate dispensing of medications and entering orders.
Working Conditions:

The Pharmacy Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy.
