About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Beach Corner Esso. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Cash Register: Accurately process transactions, handle cash, cheques, and credit/debit card payments.
  • Process Sales: Scan items, receive payment for goods or services, and reconcile daily/shift payments with total sales.
  • Suggestive Selling: Offer customers product recommendations and promotions to enhance sales.
  • Customer Service: Greet customers, provide assistance, and resolve any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain a clean and organized store environment, including merchandise displays and stock levels.
  • Security: Monitor all entrances and exits, request proof of payment when necessary, and verify the age of customers when selling restricted products.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of retail sales experience.
  • Work Setting: Retail business environment.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for long periods, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, reliable, and able to work independently.
