We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Superintendent to join our team at 2960 Don Mills Rd Apts.
Job Summary:The Building Superintendent will be responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of our apartment complex, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, as well as making minor repairs to heating, cooling, and electrical systems.
- Trash and Recycling: Empty trash cans and recycling bins, and ensure that all waste is disposed of properly.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas, as well as wash windows and interior walls.
- Security and Safety: Perform regular safety checks, and ensure that all security measures are in place.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to residents, responding to their maintenance requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Supervision: Supervise and train other maintenance staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Personal Suitability: Flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, and reliable.
- On-site Housing: On-site housing options available.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment.
- Support for Youths: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment.
- Support for Indigenous People: Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance.

Hours of Work: 30 to 44 hours per week
