Job Description

At CPP Investments, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Private Investment Risk to join our team. As a key member of our Investment Risk group, you will play a critical role in supporting the ongoing implementation of our expanded risk assessment and management framework for private assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement risk assessment and management strategies for private investments, including credit investments, real assets, and private equity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from Private Equity and Real Assets to support risk oversight, analysis, and identification across private market asset classes.
  • Evolve the risk oversight engagement model with Credit Investments, other Investment Risk teams, and other groups to achieve deeper exchange of information as One Fund.
  • Represent CPP Investments before external counterparties, such as rating agencies, credit market participants, and professional associations, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Business, along with a relevant graduate degree or degrees (MBA, Finance).
  • Additional relevant professional qualifications (CFA Charterholder, CAIA) an asset.
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including experience in an investment or risk oversight/risk management role.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, discounted cash flow valuation, and comfort working with or experience in quantitative approaches to measure private asset risk.
