Director of Private Investment Risk Management

CPP Investments seeks a seasoned professional to drive the implementation of an advanced risk assessment and management framework for private assets. As a key member of the Investment Risk team, you will leverage your expertise to identify, assess, and monitor risks associated with private investments, ensuring the organization's risk management practices are robust and effective.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement risk assessment methodologies for private markets, incorporating quantitative and qualitative data.
- Collaborate with the Credit Investments Department and other stakeholders to ensure seamless risk oversight and analysis.
- Monitor portfolio risk profiles and identify emerging risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform risk assessment approaches, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Represent CPP Investments in external forums, maintaining relationships with rating agencies, credit market participants, and professional associations.
- 10+ years of experience in investment or risk oversight/risk management, with a focus on private markets.
- Deep knowledge of credit markets, including corporate credit, structured credit, and real assets credit.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts to senior audiences.
- Ability to work independently, with a high degree of autonomy, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or Business, or equivalent professional certifications (CFA, CAIA).
