Job Summary

Orin Contracting Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including heavy trucks, attachments, and working tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment, and adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Inventory Management: Order parts and maintain inventory to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
  • Documentation: Keep maintenance reports and documentation to track equipment maintenance and repair history.
  • Testing and Quality Control: Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Cleaning and Lubrication: Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
Specializations
  • Diesel Engine Repair: Fuel injection system, exhaust system, cooling system, air conditioning system, lubrication system, engine control system, major internal engine repairs or overhaul, and installation and alignment of engines and machinery.
  • Powered Equipment Repair: Cable-operated working attachments, hydraulic-operated working attachments, compressors, pumps, telescopic ladder, electric generators, industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts.
  • Mechanical Maintenance and Repair: Mechanical transmissions, drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering, highway vehicle tires and wheels, differentials, and brake system.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling, hand-eye co-ordination, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, overtime required, and standing for extended periods.
  • Weight Handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs).

Experience
  • Experience Required: 2 years to less than 3 years.
