**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Age Coordinator to join our team at the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. As a key member of our early childhood education team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children in our Before and After School program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care to children, including toileting, first aid, and medication administration.
  • Engage with children and ensure their safety and supervision in a group setting.
  • Plan and implement play-based learning activities in accordance with our curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and volunteers to ensure a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Support children with exceptional behaviors and additional needs.
  • Adhere to our mission, vision, and values, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in early childhood education.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a safe, accessible, and quality child-centered environment.
  • Develop positive relationships with families and provide support to help them achieve their goals.
  • Comply with relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines to ensure the well-being and safety of children.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Up-to-date immunizations.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, approximately 6:30-9:00am and 3:00-6:00pm, plus administrative hours.
  • Passion for working with children and providing quality play-based learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 kg, and participate in physical activities.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator or equivalent qualification.
