Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Deckhand to join our team at Young Guns Fisheries Limited. As a Deckhand, you will be responsible for preparing nets, lines, and other fishing tackle, operating fishing gear to catch fish and other marine life, and maintaining fishing gear and other deck equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare nets, lines, and other fishing tackle
  • Operate fishing gear to catch fish and other marine life
  • Clean, sort, and pack fish in ice and stow catch in hold
  • Repair nets, splice ropes, and maintain fishing gear and other deck equipment
  • Clean deck surfaces and fish hold
Work Environment

As a Deckhand, you will work outdoors in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods. You will also be required to work in confined spaces, in/on water, and in wet/damp conditions.

Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Will train on the job
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods
