Job Title: Area Safety Manager

At First Student Canada-Transco, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe working practices and procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely.
  • Monitor and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Collaborate with HR and operations teams to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to operations and maintenance teams on safety-related matters.
Requirements:
  • 7 years of experience in safety and transportation management.
  • 5 years of experience in fleet transportation management.
  • Strong commitment to safety and a proven track record of implementing safety initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and perform root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach.
