Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fabricate and install cabinets, doors, and other woodwork
- Maintain and repair existing structures, including wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in carpentry
- Ability to work at heights, in noisy and dusty environments, and outdoors
- Excellent oral communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift heavy loads and wear steel-toed safety boots, a hard hat, and a safety vest
