Senior Real Estate Strategist

The Director, Real Estate will lead the Real Estate Division in identifying, evaluating, and executing real estate opportunities, negotiating agreements, marketing properties to potential tenants, and overseeing the University's portfolio of revenue-producing properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction in the management of non-core real estate assets, including market and financial analysis, valuations, and negotiations of acquisitions and sales.
  • Develop short and long-term real estate strategies to ensure acquisitions, divestments, and partnerships align with the business goals and growth plans of the University.
  • Oversee the University's Real Estate Division administration, leasing, and use agreement transactions, management of leases and leasehold improvement projects, and negotiate terms and conditions of non-core lands and commercial real estate leasing agreements.
  • Prepare an annual budget, capital plan, and business plan that meets the objectives of the Real Estate Division and the Heritage Fund.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the real estate market and industry practices through association memberships and attendance at appropriate seminars and industry meetings.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, Master's degree preferred in real estate development or urban planning, business administration, or any related field.
  • Real Estate License or a qualified professional designation.
  • 9-12 years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Leadership experience with a real estate portfolio, including strategy setting and financial performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and tactfully manage collaborative and collegial interactions.
