Job Title: LTO Planning Time English Teacher

We are seeking a qualified LTO Planning Time English Teacher to join our team at the Simcoe County District School Board.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction and training to students in English, as well as managing the class and reporting on student progress. The teacher will also be expected to carry out supervisory duties and instructional programs assigned by the principal, and to cooperate with other teachers and the principal in all matters related to the instruction of students.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective instruction and training to students in English
  • Manage the class and report on student progress
  • Carry out supervisory duties and instructional programs assigned by the principal
  • Cooperate with other teachers and the principal in all matters related to the instruction of students
  • Ensure that all reasonable safety procedures are carried out in courses and activities for which the teacher is responsible
  • Cooperate with the principal and other teachers to establish and maintain consistent disciplinary practices in the school
  • Ensure that report cards are fully and properly completed and processed in accordance with the guides known in English as Guide to the Provincial Report Card, Grades 1-8 and Guide to the Provincial Report Card, Grades 9-12, and in French as Guide d’utilisation du bulletin scolaire de l’Ontario de la 1ère à la 8e année and Guide du bulletin scolaire de l’Ontario de la 9e à la 12e année, as the case may be
  • Participate in regular meetings with pupils’ parents or guardians
  • Perform duties as assigned by the principal in relation to co-operative placements of pupils
  • Perform duties normally associated with the graduation of pupils
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: LTO - 0.3 Planning Time English, PLANNING TIME FI, FSL QUALS, DAY 1,2,3 AFTEROONS
  • Experience: 5 or more years of permanent contract teaching experience with another board that can be confirmed through your resume and application
