Job Title: Load Planner

Job Summary:

The Erb Group of Companies is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Load Planner to join our team. As a Load Planner, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the movement of goods and materials across our network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate load coverage for pick-ups and deliveries, prioritizing time-sensitive and urgent freight requests.
  • Review fleet personnel to ensure proper allocation of resources and equipment to maximize operational efficiencies.
  • Schedule company and agency drivers, ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction, implementing changes to optimize operations.
  • Monitor and report on scheduled departure and driver delay times, providing continuous communication to dispatch and operations personnel.
  • Establish routing based on contract requirements, updating as needed to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly dashboard reports, tracking key performance indicators such as miles per truck, miles per driver, rate per mile, and empty miles.
  • Assist with vacation coverage and shift coverage as required, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Collaborate with the dispatch team to ensure smooth freight movement.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in a similar position in the transportation industry.
  • Dispatch experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the GTA area is required.
  • Knowledge of AS400 and Microsoft Office is required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility for shift coverage is considered an asset.
