About the Role

The Corporation of The Municipality Of Central Elgin is seeking a skilled Communications Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to engage with our community and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive communication plan to promote the municipality's initiatives and services
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels
  • Design and implement public awareness campaigns to promote municipal programs and services
  • Manage the municipality's website, social media, and other digital platforms to ensure accurate and timely information is available to the public
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets to secure positive coverage of municipal initiatives
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a communications role, preferably in a municipal or government setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences and formats
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficiency in graphic design and digital media tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite
