Job Title: Apprentice Highways Project Manager

BQ INTERNATIONAL LTD. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Highways Project Manager to join our team. As an Apprentice Project Manager, you will be responsible for constructing and managing the master schedule for a project.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Gathering Requirements: Establish the roles, templates, and processes for the program.
  2. Program Deficiencies: Identify and manage program deficiencies.
  3. KPIs for Reporting: Determine key performance indicators for reporting and tracking.
  4. Project Team Collaboration: Work with a project team of 3-10, collaborating with team leads from various departments and high-level users.
  5. Agile Methodology: Utilize an agile methodology for the project.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience constructing and managing a master schedule at a program level.
  • PWA Office 365: Experience with PWA Office 365.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities.
Assets:
  • Insurance Industry Experience: Previous experience in the insurance industry working on projects.
  • Agile Certification: Agile certification or previous experience is a strong asset.
Other Notes:
  • Hiring Manager Review: Hiring manager will be reviewing candidates on January 28th/29th and booking interviews.
  • Role Duration: Role is a 6-month term; project is expected to be completed after 6 months but has the potential to extend on a new project if the right fit.
  • Onsite Location: Role is onsite at CityPlace location – NO option to work remotely.

Responsibilities: Manage the project during the initiation, design, development, implementation, and operations start-up by ensuring that resources are made available and that the project is developed and is fully operational within previously agreed time, cost, and performance parameters.

Project Management: Formulate statements of problems; establish procedures for the development and implementation of significant, new, or modified project elements to solve these problems, and obtain approval thereof.

Project Objectives: Define and document the objectives for the project; determine budgetary requirements, the composition, roles and responsibilities, and terms of reference for the project team.

Progress Reporting: Report progress of the project on an ongoing basis and at scheduled points in the life cycle.

Stakeholder Management: Meet stakeholders and other project managers and state problems in a form capable of being solved.

Project Tools: Prepare plans, charts, tables, and diagrams to assist in analyzing or displaying problems; work with a variety of project management tools.

Deliverables and Milestones: Ensure all deliverables and milestones are completed as planned.

Project Change Requests: Manage Project Change Requests effectively through the approved Change Management process.

Project Baseline Schedules: Develop and support project baseline schedules.

Work Breakdown Structures: Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures.

Reports and Analysis: Produce appropriate reports and identify scheduling and/or dependency issues.

Critical Path Analysis: Conduct and provide critical path analysis.

Schedule Coordination: Assist in Schedule Coordination efforts with internal and external project stakeholders.
