About the Role

Fraser Health is seeking an exceptional physician leader to join our team as a Medical Director, Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). This is a three-year term of appointment, renewable by the Regional Medical Director and Regional Department Head, Palliative Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regional leadership to support the successful delivery of a care and service network within Fraser Health from a medical staff perspective.
  • Define medical care and practice standards, and support standardization across the program.
  • Monitor performance against standards and work with quality improvement consultants to ensure tracking and resolution of MAiD quality issues.
  • Represent Fraser Health on the provincial working group for MAiD led by the Ministry of Health.
  • Support the MAiD Care Coordination centre in Fraser Health by providing medical direction and leadership.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the MAiD service in Fraser Health.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for membership on the Fraser Health Medical Staff.
  • Five years' leadership experience within the healthcare sector and experience in hospital-based leadership.
  • A Master's degree in health administration or business administration (optional).
  • Additional leadership training is preferred.
  • Experience with budgetary and operational planning is desirable.
