Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team in Cranbrook, BC. The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy duty equipment repair and maintenance, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

The estimated salary for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on heavy duty equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Repair and maintain heavy duty equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues with heavy duty equipment, including diagnosing problems and implementing repairs
  • Work with other technicians to ensure the efficient operation of our fleet
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure that all work is completed safely and efficiently

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired
  • 1+ year experience as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic
  • Relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards
  • Follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records
  • Willingness to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job
  • Exert physical effort including pushing, pulling, bending and lifting items up to 100 lbs.
  • Use fine motor coordination with arm, hand, finger and leg dexterity
  • Ability to kneel, crawl and climb
