Job Summary:

Straña Talent Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our team in Pointe-Claire. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support to our clients in the manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, advise, and train clients on the installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment. Evaluate equipment, identify service or parts needs, and submit requests to increase sales volume.
  • Work proactively with clients, sales representatives, and verify recent orders to identify opportunities for maintenance visits.
  • Perform service visits, generate professional reports, and submit invoices within prescribed deadlines.
  • Use SalesForce to submit sales requests, manage service reports, update asset data, and collaborate with other departments.
  • Manage time and resources effectively to minimize overtime and expenses while generating service and parts sales.
  • Identify and advise sales resources on new equipment opportunities with clients.
  • Provide feedback and training on equipment performance and potential improvements to sales, engineering, and other field service department members.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in a technical field, or equivalent technical school training; or a minimum of 5 years of experience and/or training in industrial service; or a combination of education and experience with an emphasis on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • English written and spoken - Required, French - Asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and technical drawings. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees.
  • Ability to use basic math concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios in practical situations.
  • Significant ingenuity and judgment are required to handle difficult-to-evaluate factors, interpret results, and make independent decisions.
  • Ability to produce professional, technically accurate, and grammatically correct reports and proposals that do not require routine revision by others.
  • Ability to use common hand tools, measuring instruments, pneumatic tools, and other common equipment for industrial equipment maintenance.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the province of residence and be insurable under the company's automobile insurance policy.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in common computer skills, including Microsoft products.
  • Experience with SalesForce or a similar customer relationship management software.
  • Must follow annual MSHA Vendor Training. Vendor training and certification for surface and underground products.
Travel Requirements:

The employee must be able to travel 60% of the time on average. Some international travel is required, and therefore a valid passport is required. The work schedule may be adjusted to allow for weekend days off when weekdays are worked.

The Pointe-Claire, Quebec office will be the home office when there are no service calls.
