Courier Van Driver Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Courier Van Driver to join our team at SATNAAM FREIGHT SERVICES LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and picking up messages, parcels, and other items by hand, operating and driving automobiles, vans, and light trucks, and providing exceptional customer service.



Responsibilities

  • Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand
  • Operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products
  • Provide professionalism in customer service
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Keep a record of items received and delivered
  • Load and unload goods
  • Sort packages for delivery
  • Follow directions and read maps
  • Use maps and other trip planning aids
  • Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and any problems
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle


Requirements

  • Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles)
  • Local and provincial/territorial transportation/travel experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, and physical demands of the job
  • Flexibility, reliability, team player, accurate, initiative, and punctuality
