About the Role

We are currently seeking a Building Sciences Consultant - Service Excellence Specialist to join our Thornhill team. Reporting to the Building Sciences Director, this position will be responsible for contributing to Building Sciences specialty consulting services.

Job Description

This role involves:

  • Conducting field reviews of building envelope elements on new construction projects to determine compliance with design/design intent and/or Ontario Building Code requirements;
  • Completing field and office reporting related to the Registrar Bulletin 19 (RB19) Program;
  • Assisting senior engineers with preparing proposals, reports, investigations, and other duties associated with the role;
  • Liaising with direct supervisor to resolve site issues impacting project quality and ensuring health and safety policies are followed at all sites;
  • Traveling to various locations, requiring access to a vehicle and a clean driving record.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science, Architectural Science, Applied Science, or construction-related discipline;
  • Demonstrating a passion for building sciences and construction;
  • Previous co-op/summer work experience in the construction or engineering industry is strongly desired;
  • Knowledge and/or experience with the Tarion Registrar Bulletin 19 Program is considered an asset;
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong work ethic;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills;
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Able to read and interpret design drawings.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
