Job Title: Merchandiser

We are seeking a skilled Merchandiser to join our team at Ontario Inc. As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for purchasing and managing merchandise for resale.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends and consumer preferences.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, and credit terms.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels to ensure timely delivery of merchandise to outlets.
  • Oversee the distribution of merchandise to outlets and ensure that it meets quality and quantity standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Review requirements of the establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, considering factors such as quality, price, and availability.
  • Supervise the work of other buyers and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.
Work Environment:

The Merchandiser will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to work under pressure to meet sales targets.

Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP education.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
Language:

English.

Work Hours:

30-40 hours per week.
