We are a team of software engineers at Amazon responsible for the tax storage platform, providing the core services that calculate taxes (sales tax and VAT) for all Amazon sales, physical and digital, globally. Our TeamWe are looking for software engineers who thrive on complex problems to operate complex and mission-critical systems under extreme loads. Our systems manage hundreds of millions of records, and respond to millions of service requests per minute.
Responsibilities- Contribute to all parts of the software development and deployment lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing and operations.
- Design and develop new and existing systems, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Work with a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality results in a Java, Linux and Oracle-based environment.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
