About the Role:

The Education Assistant will provide support to classroom teachers in creating inclusive schools and classrooms. This role will involve working with students with special needs, supporting their learning and development, and assisting with daily tasks and activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs
  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation
  • Support students with daily tasks and activities
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when working with sensitive information
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Special Education Teaching Assistant program or equivalent
  • Experience working with individuals with special needs
  • Knowledge of behavior management, conflict resolution, and restraining techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
