Senior Indigenous Services Assurance and Accounting Manager

MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm for Indigenous Nations, businesses, and entrepreneurs in Canada. With a strong commitment to serving the unique needs of Indigenous communities, we are seeking a highly skilled Manager, Assurance and Accounting to join our Indigenous Services team.
As a key member of our team, you will lead the dynamic planning, scheduling and execution of audits, compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls and financial/accounting transactions with Indigenous communities and enterprises. With a focus on delivering high-quality results and exceptional client service, you will work closely with clients to understand their business needs and develop strategic, business and operational plans that meet their unique requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, scheduling and execution of audits, compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls and financial/accounting transactions with Indigenous communities and enterprises
- Deliver technical expertise in audit and assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high-quality deliverables
- Manage a portfolio of clients, understanding their business, key risks and ways to deliver added value; ensure clients' needs are met and that relationships and accounts grow and develop
- Maintain quality control using specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client's business, financial entries and reports
- Develop business development opportunities and prepare compelling proposals to meet client needs
- Mentor, motivate and inspire team members towards professional and personal growth through clear guidance, constructive feedback, and impactful performance reviews
- Maintain flexibility to travel to engage with clients in-person
Skills and Experience
- CPA designation
- 4 to 6 years of relevant public accounting experience
- Experience working with Indigenous communities or enterprises an asset
- Strong understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles
- Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
